Founder
story
World Culture Marketplace was founded by Annette Cousin with a simple idea: that the world's most meaningful creations deserve a global stage.
The platform was created by Annette Cousin, who recognized that many cultural creators and artisans produce extraordinary work that often remains invisible beyond their local communities. At the same time, global audiences are increasingly interested in discovering authentic cultural expression, handmade craftsmanship, and the stories behind creative traditions. This disconnect inspired the creation of WCM. Rather than building another traditional marketplace, the goal was to create a platform where cultural creations could be presented with context, respect, and authenticity. World Culture Marketplace was designed as a gateway between creators and audiences — a space where cultural artists, artisans, and storytellers can share their work and heritage with a wider world. Through WCM, the vision is to support cultural visibility while honoring the people and traditions behind creative expression. By highlighting creators and the cultural heritage they represent, the platform aims to contribute to a more inclusive and respectful global cultural economy. What began as an idea to bridge cultures digitally is evolving into a growing network of creators, communities, and audiences who believe that culture is not only something to observe, but something to understand and celebrate.
